Smithers-Oasis France is helping shape the future of floristry by partnering with florist schools to provide students with professional-level tools. Between France’s private and state floristry schools, Smithers-Oasis France initially decided to focus on the public state schools.
MultipleFrench CRMA, or Chambre Régionale de Métiers et de l’Artisanat*, provide support to artisanal and craft sectors through training, business creation assistance, and governmental advocacy. Each has three to four floristry schools and an annual state endowment of €500 per student. Each CRMA places a public tender, where they invite suppliers to submit contract bids to provide necessary equipment for CRMA’s programs. Smithers-Oasis France secured three out of the four public tenders they submitted bids for, each with a three-year contract.
For future florists in state schools, a premium box with supplies tailored to each school’s requirements is provided. With wheels and three separate compartments, the box is perfect for transport and organization. Additional required tools, such as drills or heat guns, are also supplied by Smithers-Oasis France. Private florist school students or stores with new employees can get the OASIS® Starting Box, containing seventeen essential products. Included in the box are florist shears, hot glue guns, green PVC tape, and FloraLife® Flower Food – everything a florist needs to get started.
It can be challenging for beginner florists to determine which products and brands work best for them. Providing quality essentials to those developing their floristry skills gives them a head start in unlocking their full potential.
