Creating a collaborative work environment requires intention and consistency. To strengthen employee connection, Temprecision International North America developed several programs designed to foster a more cooperative culture.
Temprecision International North America began by launching the “Volunteer Employee Planning Committee”, a group dedicated to creating opportunities for socializing. Comprised entirely of employee volunteers, the group planned monthly events to bring the team together. For over two years, the committee regularly hosted events like chili cookoffs, bowling nights, hiking trips, and more.
In addition to the events, the “Best Impression Award” was created. Peers and shift leaders nominated coworkers who embodied Temprecision International North America values. An employee that showed a strong commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork was highlighted each month. In approximately two years, more than 170 nominations were submitted, resulting in 20 winners.
The committee maintained a display case with current events and interactive elements. Birthdays and anniversaries were celebrated in weekly morning meetings, and complimentary fresh fruit was stocked in the break rooms to provide team members with healthy snacks. Through the Volunteer Employee Planning Committee’s programs, Temprecision International North America team members had meaningful opportunities to connect, celebrate achievements, and build a positive workplace culture.
