FloraLife® Express and FloraLife Crystal Clear® recyclable paper flower food packets have been evaluated as carbon neutral. The change to the packets is a part of the division’s 2025 Sustainability Plan. The plan focuses on the reduce, re-use, recycle and respect principles in five commitment areas, including sustainable packaging and climate change. New advancements in the packets specifically target these two commitment areas to help reduce carbon footprint and make packaging eco-friendly without sacrificing quality. In addition to directly reducing the carbon footprint of the packets, FloraLife has partnered with a third-party company to offset the remainder of the packets’ carbon footprint. The packets include symbols to indicate carbon neutrality and share end of life recommendations.
To conduct the assessment, FloraLife partnered with a leading company specializing in carbon emissions assessments, environmental strategy and planning, carbon and energy reduction, and carbon offsetting. Carbon offsetting plays the role of balancing out emissions by supporting global projects that help provide solutions to climate change.
Not only are the packets recyclable, but some packets, like those for FloraLife® Express Universal 300, hold the OK biobased 4-star certificate guaranteeing that at least 80% comes from renewable resources.
Ultimately, Floralife’s goal is to remove millions of pieces of plastic from the industry over the coming years. By offering multiple products in recyclable, carbon-neutral packaging, consumers can continue to use their favorite products while making a positive environmental impact.
