When the COVID-19 pandemic began, FloraLife started to get the question, “Are FloraLife® cleaners effective against the novel coronavirus?” Our Research and Technology team investigated and confirmed FloraLife® MicroBLOC® Disinfectant and FloraLife® D.C.D.® Cleaner Concentrate met the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) criteria to use against COVID-19.
With demand for disinfectants rising because of the pandemic, hospitals began looking for alternative solutions to keep their environments safe and healthy. Health Corporation of America, the largest health system in the United States by number of hospitals, placed an order for FloraLife® cleaners. When their order arrived, both cleaners were tested to ensure they met Health Corporation of America’s standards. Once they passed and were determined as quality products, they were put into use.
FloraLife has an ongoing commitment to broaden its products’ uses beyond traditional postharvest care. Part of this is FloraLife becoming a member of ISSA, the world’s leading Cleaning Industry Association. ISSA provides quality benchmarks, industry-specific information, standards for professional business practices, and establishes scientific connections between cleaning and health. As a cleaning product manufacturer, FloraLife values the information ISSA provides, especially during the time of the pandemic.
FloraLife® MicroBLOC® Disinfectant and FloraLife® D.C.D.® Cleaner Concentrate are not limited to hospitals – they can be used in a wide range of industries to lower the risk of spreading infection in high traffic areas with hard, nonporous surfaces.
