Made with plant-based, renewable, natural coir and a compostable binder, OASIS® TerraBrick™ Floral Media has solved the problem for floral designers who want – or are required – to use a compostable floral media that will support a complex design and support the life of cut flowers over an extended period of time. It has been certified OK compost HOME and OK compost INDUSTRIAL by TÜV Austria, a globally recognized third-party certifying body.
Creating a sustainable product without sacrificing functionality and quality was a top priority while developing this product. Each brick can be easily removed from the recyclable trays and cut with a knife into your desired shape and size. Once placed in a container, bricks simply need to be saturated before flower stems are inserted. This provides a stable design base with excellent water absorption and very good flower life.
Some events like All Saints’ Day or remembrances at natural cemeteries have requirements that all materials used in floral designs be home compostable. This led to time consuming efforts to incorporate flowers using techniques such as sewing stems and blossoms to a natural substrate or the complete elimination of the use of flowers. OASIS® TerraBrick™ Floral Media is the ideal solution, offering a sturdy foundation in which to create floral designs and allowing design from all sides. The product can also be used on a dish or plate so that its natural appearance can be incorporated into the design.
