KENT, OHIO – OASIS® Grower Solutions, a division of Smithers-Oasis Company, offers its EthylBloc™ Sachets, a patented, EPA approved ethylene action inhibitor designed to keep flowers and plants fresh during transport and storage.

EthylBloc™ sachets inhibit the negative effects of ethylene (the natural gas produced by plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables) including premature wilting, leaf yellowing, premature opening and premature death.

Intended for use by professional growers, wholesalers, nursery, greenhouse growers and retail florists, EthylBloc™ technology is a powder, that when dampened, releases a gas that helps extend the life of fresh cut flowers, potted plants, bedding plants and foliage plants.

“The negative effects of ethylene have been estimated to cause up to 30 percent of floriculture crop losses due to dull colors, leaf abscission, petal drop and aging,” said Jeff Naymik, global marketing manager, Oasis Grower Solutions. “The EthylBloc™ technology works naturally to counteract ethylene damage and to keep cut flowers and plants fresh throughout the supply chain.”

EthylBloc™ technology works by blocking the negative effects of ethylene by binding to the ethylene receptors in the flower or plant. EthylBloc™ sachets leave no trace or residue.
