Company’s succession plan is announced

Smithers-Oasis Company, a global manufacturer and marketer of floral foam, floral accessories, postharvest products, and grower media headquartered in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, today announced the transfer of majority ownership of the company from Charles Walton to a team of internal global senior managers, effective immediately.

Walton, who has been with Smithers-Oasis Company for 35 years and has served as its Chairman for the past 24 years, acquired the Smithers’ family interest in the company in 1986. He will remain Chairman of the Board of Directors and will continue to support the management team in terms of strategy, direction and growth of the company. Robin Kilbride, who has been with Smithers-Oasis Company for 27 years and has served as its President for the past five years, assumes the new role of President and CEO.

“Today’s announcement is the culmination of a number of years of succession planning that stabilizes the company’s future for the next generation, keeping it managed by those individuals who know it best and have decades of combined experience with Smithers-Oasis. This management team is committed to serving our stakeholders and our customers around the world with the same high levels of service, quality and innovation,” Walton said.

Smithers-Oasis is a private company and details of the sale transaction are not being disclosed.
