Showers To Go
There's something quite special about a shower bouquet . . . it's the truly romantic style that brides dream of. But, with labour costs rising, the need to be able to do more than one wedding each Saturday, and the fact that many brides simply can't affort the true cost of a fully wired bouquet, you need to find an alternative.

Which is where the OASIS® LaDuette® foam-filled bouquet holder comes in. Because, in half the time traditional wiring takes, you can create the most stunning shower bouquet, and be confident that nothing will fall out.

Does it work? Mike Saunders, probably the UK's leading exponent of wedding work, would not use anything else for his shower bouquets. But, as Mike shows - you have to make sure you place your flowers and foliage properly to achieve the best results.

Materials needed:

OASIS® LaDuette® Bouquet Holder

Foliage:

  • Steel Grass

  • Phormium Tenox

  • Ivy Trails

  • Dracaena Leaves

  • Contorted Willow

  • Large Hedera Leaves

  • 2/3 Stems of Soft Ruscus

Flowers:

  • 12-15 Roses

  • Genista

  • Spray Carnations

  • Hypericum

  • Freesia

How to put it together

  1. It all comes down to layering your material and reducing the amount of space needed by each stem, so that there is plenty of space. Start with the outline. Mike has used a selection of foliage and cut the stems into sharp arrow heads, which will reduce the amount of space needed and give a stronger grip into the foam.
  1. Having determined the width and length, start placing the flower content. Mike has used arrowhead-cut and fully defoliated roses with trails of genista. Make sure the flower goes over the hand to avoid a "podgy" (short, plump) look.
  1. Echo the basic shape with more flowers. In this case, spray carnations and hypericum trails, until you achieve a cascading look.
  1. Finally, finish off with long-stemmed freesia.
