EYCHENNE® Star Raquette Design
"A typical funeral floral arrangement for funerals in French style, so-called "à la Française," characterized by the use of many flowers and a geometric shape, with some empty space that creates volume and relief into the composition - and invites the eye to go along floral work like you would do when looking around in a small garden," Pascal states.
"This will be perfect for a central piece during the religious ceremony and particularly to cover the coffin," Pascal continues. "This kind of creation is possible, thanks to the EYCHENNE® floral foam, which can support heavy creations with big branches and a lot of flowers with big stems."

How to put it together
- After the foam has been saturated, the wooden pieces are placed first and fixed with OASIS® Waterproof Tape. Foliage in parallel, horizontal and vertical positions give the main frame (lines) of the floral arrangement. Tips: The foam has to be watered slowly and is ready for work when it doesn't drain any more. Wooden pieces give a smoother line to the composition. The aim of this work is to give balance and depth to the general impression of the arrangement.
- The biggest flowers are taken first. Other flowers are picked afterward. The flowers repartition must be done in a homogenous way to get a balanced structure, as far as colours and shapes are concerned. Tip: Take the foliage and work as global massive shapes to get a greater impact out of your floral arrangement structure.
- This step includes flowers and specific foliage. For example, the hydrangea for its round shape, the europanax leaves for their peaceful aspect, the amaranths for the colour and shape - all these effects will strengthen the garden appearance of the floral arrangement. Tip: The foliage and flowers are going through the wooden pieces and are picked all around the foam base. Both sides must be worked out with the same care and balance of the different elements.
- Finish the work with Gerbera, Santinis, and Bracken. These elements will give the final touch to get a balanced arrangement. Broken Phormium leaf brings a horizontal line of calm to the whole. Tip: Picking up some natural elements is a good idea to get personalized compositions. For example, grasses, wooden parts, barks, berries, fruit, etc. - even for funeral arrangements. This makes the piece more dynamic than traditional and conventional funeral arrangements.

Estimated time to design is 45 minutes. Polyurethane EYCHENNE® Floral Foam allows "big stem" insertion and a high concentration of foliage and flowers. This is the most adequate foam for funeral arrangements within Catholic rituals, but is also the right foam for big stage floral designs.
Here, Pascal demonstrated that floral funeral tributes can cross a so-called classical border, while respecting the circumstances, for a great and peaceful result. Do not hesitate to follow this way - your customers will love it!
