Mr. Fumihiko Muramatsu graduated from the American Floral Art School in 1974. He was the champion of the Interflora World Cup in 1989. In 1994, he initiated and managed an exchange education program between Korea and Japan.
In 1995, Mr. Muramatsu appeared on NHK-TV, teaching viewers the elements of flower arranging, and was the chief bouquet designer at the Winter Olympics in Nagano. He has appeared worldwide to demonstrate his fascinating arrangements, which is one reason why his talent is in such great demand, organizing dinner shows, lectures and other illustrious events.
"Negative space" design is popular in the Japanese culture. People there can appreciate space and lines through flowers and greens that "stretch" under the arrangement. Crossing beautiful lines of pines and bamboo branches project an image of a bridge across countries . . . an image of unity and human togetherness.
The theme of this design is a greeting to all: "Happy New Year!"
Why I Use OASIS® Floral Products
"I often use OASIS Florettes for my daily orders. In Japan, we especially like to use weather-beaten branches and logs of trees called 'Ryuboku' for Japanese-style designs. Florettes can be fixed any place in the design using the handles, so that flowers can be arranged to create 'negative space', as can be seen in this picture.' Instructions
Create a series of beautiful lines using Bamboo and Pine branches. Two Bio-Florettes are covered with moss and fixed by wire. Arrange Gloriosa Lily, Oncidium, Ddendrobium. Set Japanese string ornaments "Mizuhki" and a ball decorated with Mizuhki to emulate the traditional Trmari.
